random little things

I don’t think I will be asking for anything this mother’s day. I shopped a bit too much lately – only because there were sales. But just the same, it was a tad too much from my usual expenses. Add to that my derma expenses. How I wish it was for vanity reasons but it’s not. Thanks to skin asthma and my atopic skin, I now regularly checks in with a dermatologist. So the next time we go to the mall to get led lights and stuff, I have to stop myself from looking around much as I don’t have the budget anymore.

For some reason, I can’t get DS to be interested in music. He must have gotten that from me. I love music alright and singing even. I even looked into Cakewalk and such. But as much as I want to learn, music can’t seem to like me. It’s a talent I think more than anything. You can learn the basic, but it is so hard to train your ears to know what’s pleasing or not. So yes, I am not forcing DS to like it. He knows what he wants to do and so I let him be.

I haven’t been able to do so much online stuff right now. I am interested in trying out crossstitch again and I have been googling about it like crazy. So happy that I have been coming across free patterns once in a while. I have gone through my stash and I have been eyeing two patterns. Two ambitious patterns I might add. I am just a bit worried as to where to get my supplies. It’s not like cigar humidors that I can easily search for an online shop. The hobby is not so popular anymore so most of the stores selling stitching supplies are already closed. I guess DS will be happy that we might be touring different malls to satisfy my current obsession.

Rather than getting information on where to buy morgan dollars, I am stuck at Pinterest browsing for organization ideas. I am planning to do a little organization of my small, but cluttered work area. I particularly like the idea below. It’s a clever use for a dish rack. I like it especially since I can see what’s inside. It makes keeping track of my things easier since I can see everything at once. Probably why I am into see-through/plastic pouches lately.

Today is a very hot day. What’s new. Summer is here and the weather has been so terribly hot. AC working non-stop. Dreading to see the electricity bill.

Hoping to catch good movies on cable. Don’t want to go out. Because it is so hot outside.

I realized I had to go out though. Need to make a trip to the grocery for toilteries and food supply.

Seeing all these wonderful sewing tutorials over at Pinterest makes me want to try sewing again. I have dreamed of creating my own clothes, even tried enrolling in a dressmaking course which sadly I wasn’t able to complete. Hopefully I can try to learn on my own. And then I can create clothes, pillow cases, custom tshirts even. But before that, I need to get a sewing machine first. And that’s after I get my slow cooker, mixer and other baking stuff.

Plants – these are on my summer shopping list. I plan to do a bit of gardening this summer for the simple reason that we find landscaping quite pricey. So we are doing it ourselves. Nothing big though. We are just getting some potted plants and maybe a few for hanging. I even thought of getting some purple plants like these orchids.

However I don’t have an idea how to take care of them so I will just be getting the low maintenance ones. You have no idea how many plants have died on us. Wish us luck!

I totally missed the first day of S&R’s members’ treat sale. I can’t believe I forgot about it. Oh well I never intended to go on the first day anyway. I tried it before nd it was so crowded. Besides I am not planning to actually shop. I just want to look around. Anyway, we have been unbelievably busy the past days (add to that the headaches and asthma attacks I am having). It was DS’ birthday last week and even though we are not having a party, there was still so much stuff to do. He had cake blowing in school and at home. And this coming weekend he will have a mini party at his grandparents’ place. Then after that we can finally enjoy summer. And that reminds me that I haven’t enrolled DS yet in swimming lessons in school. He needs some form of kids exercise come vacation.

I was able to shop a few items online. All totally unplanned. I just can’t pass the opportunity so shop we did. Not so much, just a few little things we need for our little gig. Of course, there was a couple of personal items. I have been shopping online for a while but I can count the times when I did get something for myself. So aside from mens titanium watches, I got myself a watch as well. I can’t wait to get hold of my loots. But that will take a long while I know.

I am browsing Amazon right now. I have been indoors for a while now, taking care of a sick kid, that I miss the mall so much. So now I am doing the next best thing, shopping online, err ‘window’ shopping only as I don’t have a budget. I’m not sure about the alpha t1 supplement for my nephew but I might order some supplements for the older people in the family. Surely there will be a piece or two of toys and books for the little one. I don’t know if I can get something for me. But we’ll see if someone will be generous to give some funds.
